Today, Congressman Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) reintroduced the Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF) against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, filed under H.J.Res 63.

Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) reintroduced the Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF) against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, filed under H.J.Res 63.  Original cosponsors of the resolution include: Reps. Jody Hice (R-GA), Duncan Hunter (R-CA), Martha Roby (R-AL), Bradley Byrne (R-AL),  Brad Wenstrup (R-OH), and Carlos Curbelo (R-L).  Kinzinger was joined by his colleagues in releasing the following joint statement on introducing this important legislation:

“Radical Islamic terrorism is still on the rise, and it’s critical that the Commander-in-Chief is not restricted in his capabilities to use the full might of our armed forces necessary to eradicate this threat.  We look forward to working with the President and his Administration in developing the best strategy, pursuant to this authorization, to destroy ISIS.”
