OTTAWA, IL – Over the weekend, Congressman Adam Kinzinger (R-Channahon) announced his office will now be accepting submissions for the 2017 Congressional Art Competition. Inviting high school students from Illinois’ 16th Congressional District to participate in the Art Competition, Congressman Kinzinger released this statement:

“I’m pleased to announce that the 2017 Congressional Art Competition is officially underway. This annual competition invites high school students in our district, and all districts across the country, to share their creativity and artistic ability.  My office is now accepting these submissions and we look forward to seeing the incredible talent here in IL-16.

Special thank you goes out to the hardworking teachers and parents whose encouragement and support have made this competition such a success for our students over the years. Here’s to another great year and great artwork!”

The winning artist will be awarded free round-trip airfare (with one parent/guardian) for a reception in Washington, DC. Their artwork will then go on display in the halls of the United States Capitol for a full year. Please note, the deadline this year is April 28, 2017.
