Washington, DC -- President Barack Obama says he doesn’t want to rush the decision on whether the Keystone XL Pipeline project from Canada to the U.S. should go ahead. So he’s threatened to reject the Middle Class Tax Relief and Job Creation Act.

Congressman Adam Kinzinger, a Manteno Republican, voted for it in the House Tuesday. He says someone will benefit from the oil in Alberta, Canada and it might as well be the U.S. He says the pipeline project will create 20,000 American jobs, bump property tax revenues up by $5.2 billion, and reduce American dependence on oil from countries that don’t like the U.S. The bill requires a decision on the project by January.

It also contains unemployment insurance reforms and payroll tax cuts.
