Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) and his House colleagues sent a letter to President Barack Obama urging the Administration to take action in Syria.  The Administration has the tools they need to apply more pressure on dictator Bashar al Assad, Russia’s Vladimir Putin and their allies.

The Members of Congress who signed this letter did so on behalf of the innocent people of Syria who have been brutally murdered under the Assad regime and Russian airstrikes.  This letter calls on the President to hold Assad and Putin accountable for the brutality they are committing and to reinvigorate faith in America’s commitment to seeking justice for the victims.

“Rather than trying to negotiate with our enemies like Vladimir Putin, we need the President – the Commander-in-Chief to the most powerful nation in the world – to stand up and act,” said Rep. Kinzinger.  “We owe it to the innocent people of Syria to bring justice against the Assad regime, Russian military, and their allies and help the struggling people of Syria. I’m grateful to my colleagues for signing this letter and joining me in urging the President and his Administration to step up and take action.”

Representative Kinzinger is joined by the following Members of Congress in sending this letter (attached) to the President:

Rep. Todd Young (R-IN)

Rep. Bob Dold (R-IL)

Rep. Joe Heck (R-NV)

Rep. Carlos Curbelo (R-FL)

Rep. Will Hurd (R-TX)
