OTTAWA, IL – Congressman Adam Kinzinger (R-Channahon) will be collecting holiday cards for local veterans starting today. Members of the community are welcomed and encouraged to participate in sending a letter or card to the veterans of the Illinois Veterans Home in LaSalle. More information is provided in the following statement from the Congressman: 

“The holidays are right around the corner and many of us are gearing up to spend time with our family, friends, and loved ones.  It’s a time to give thanks and share in the joys of the freedoms we enjoy here in America. 

“It’s important to think about our men and women serving overseas and all those who have served to protect and defend this great nation. 

“Please join me in thanking our military by writing a letter or card to our local veterans.  To participate, please mail your letters/cards to my Ottawa office or, if you’re in the area, please drop it off at the office during normal business hours.  Our deadline will be December 8, 2016.  I’ll collect the letters and personally deliver them to the veterans at the Illinois Veterans Home in LaSalle on Monday, December 12. 

“As a community, this is one way we can give thanks to our veterans, and show our unwavering support and appreciation.”
