Washington, DC – Today, the House Energy and Commerce Committee completed the markup process of the American Health Care Act (AHCA) and advanced the legislation out of committee. After participating in this very long, overnight committee session, Congressman Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) released the following statement: "After more than 27 hours in markup, the House Energy and Commerce Committee advanced the American Health Care Act (AHCA). I’m proud to be a member of this committee, and believe our long hours of hard work on behalf of the American people will ultimately create a better system, and give more choice for the families in my district and across the country when it comes to health coverage. “As we continue to develop this legislation, I’m hopeful we can come together and reform our health care to provide a better way forward for the American people and our country.”
