Kinzinger says "credible military option" must be on table for North Korea

U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Channahon) is calling for a military option in response to North Korea's latest missile test. 

An intercontinential ballistic missile launched by the Asian country Tuesday potentially has the power and range to wreak havoc anywhere on the U.S. mainland, experts said. Kinzinger said there are very few diplomatic options left for dealing with North Korea's ongoing weapons program.

"Despite imposing greater sanctions, the Kim regime continues to threaten us and our allies – and we must defend ourselves by having a credible military option on the table," the congressman said. “In order to have a credible military option, we must fully fund our armed forces so they have the means, manpower, and technology to protect and defend American lives. This latest ICBM missile test by Kim Jong-Un has crossed the line, and we must be fully prepared to enforce those repercussions.”

Kinzinger is urging the Senate to pass an appropriations package for the military.
