Rep. Kinzinger Announces State of the Union Guest
Congressman Adam Kinzinger (IL-16) is pleased to welcome Officer Mark Dallas of the Dixon Police Department as his guest for the 2019 State of the Union Address.
Washington, DC – Congressman Adam Kinzinger (IL-16) is pleased to welcome Officer Mark Dallas, the School Resource Officer at Dixon High School and of the Dixon Police Department, as his guest for the 2019 State of the Union Address on Tuesday, February 5, 2019.
A true hero in the Dixon community, Officer Dallas thwarted a school shooting from happening at Dixon High School on May 16, 2018. Serving as the School Resource Officer on duty, Officer Dallas’ quick, selfless actions to disarm the attacker kept the students and faculty safe from an armed student. In October 2018, Officer Dallas was named the 2018 ‘Officer of the Year’ by the International Association of Chiefs of Police, and was recognized by President Trump for his heroism.

His quick, fearless actions saved countless lives, and prevented a real tragedy from occurring.
