Washington, DC – In recognizing the veterans of Illinois’ 16th Congressional District, Congressman Adam Kinzinger (IL-16) and his staff will be collecting cards and letters for the residents of the Illinois Veterans Home in LaSalle. Members of the community are welcomed and encouraged to participate in celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with our local heroes.

In making this announcement, Congressman Kinzinger released the following statement:

We are incredibly lucky to have such brave men and women who have served and sacrificed to defend this great nation and the freedoms we hold dear. It’s important to remind our veterans how much we appreciate them and value their unwavering dedication to our country, and our communities. And we can share this gratitude to our veterans throughout the year, at any time.

“So please join me in bringing some joy and good luck to our local veterans by sending them a card or letter this St. Patrick’s Day.

“To participate, please mail your cards, letters, Irish blessings or proverbs to my Ottawa office at 628 Columbus Street. If you’re in the area, please drop it off at the office during normal business hours. Our collection deadline will be COB on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, and we will deliver the cards to the Illinois Veterans Home in LaSalle, Illinois shortly thereafter. Thank you in advance for your help in making this card drive special.”

NOTE: If there are any questions, Congressman Kinzinger’s staff will be available to assist via phone and email.
