WSPY News: Applications To Kinzinger For Military Academies Due This Week
Students interested in applying for a Military Service Academy must do so by the end of this week.
This Friday, October 25 is the deadline for students to submit an application to Congressman Adam Kinzinger’s office for admittance consideration to one of the Military Service Academies. They include the U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Military Academy at West Point and the U.S. Naval Academy.
Applicants must receive a recommendation during the application process from a member of Congress or Vice President of the United States. Each member of Congress is allowed to have a maximum of five cadets attending a military academy at one time. The honor of attending a service academy, Kinzinger said, comes with an obligation and commitment to serve in the armed forces for a minimum of five years upon graduation.
Kinzinger, a former Air Force pilot and current Major in the National Guard, said the application process is competitive & rigorous and wishes the applicants the best of luck in the process and their future endeavors.
