Washington, DC – Following the House vote on H.R. 266, the Paycheck Protection Program and Health Care Enhancement Act, Congressman Adam Kinzinger (IL-16) released this statement supporting the passage of this much-needed aid package:

“The Paycheck Protection Program has been a lifeline for millions of Americans across the country, saving jobs and providing much-needed relief. But the funds ran out well over two weeks ago and businesses are struggling to stay afloat, let alone pay their employees.

“Today, I joined my House colleagues in voting for additional funding of this vital program. I’m glad to see it pass with the strong, bipartisan support it deserved.

“The aid package also includes more funding for COVID-19 testing and our healthcare providers. These are things that make a real impact, and that’s what we should be focused on.

“The American people are facing real hardships right now, and in order to move forward as a nation, we must work together.”
