U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger and China Task Force unveiled a report on the threats posed by the Chinese government and solutions they argue would address the vulnerabilities the U.S. faces.

Kinzinger, R-Channahon, had several of his own provisions included in the final report, according to a news release. The report contained more than 400 recommendations after the task force engaged with more than 130 leaders.

"The time to act is now and I'm urging my colleagues across the aisle to read this report and wake up to the reality we're in with an increasingly aggressive Communist China," Kinzinger said in a statement. "From stealing (intellectual property) and our military technology to threatening to withhold medical supplies, the (Chinese Communist Party) has proven that they will never be a responsible global partner."

The task force report covers several issues like human rights violations and calls on the Trump Administration to "evaluate whether the crimes against humanity in Xinjiang committed by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) amount to genocide by providing a safe harbor for Hong Kong refugees."

Kinzinger is also working on a bill to give incentives to American companies operating in countries with concentrated supply chains to move their manufacturing to the U.S. or other countries in the Western Hemisphere.

"It's time we stop kidding ourselves and take the action laid out in this report to address the CCP and confront these threats directly," Kinzinger said in his statement.
