Washington, DC – After the House vote on H.R. 3684, the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, Congressman Adam Kinzinger (IL-16) released the following statement: “For years, I’ve said we need to invest in our nation’s crumbling infrastructure and finally, we’ve taken the steps necessary to make it happen. This bipartisan package contains significant investments for roads, bridges, rails, seaports, airports, and inland waterways—core infrastructure most Americans agree are in need of improvement. The bill also includes a massive investment into broadband and billions more into nuclear energy programs, both of which are uniquely important to the 16th District of Illinois. “It’s well-past time we make investments in our nation that will pay dividends for future generations. It’s on each of us to leave this world better than we found it. Finding new and innovative ways to keep America moving is one of the most important roles of the federal government. I publicly announced my support for the legislation when it passed the Senate—as well as the bipartisan negotiations that made it possible—and voted for its passage in the House.” |
